What is the difference between sites approved to use the Nash System?
Nash Approved Salon (NAS)
A Nash Approved Salon is a pet grooming salon that has achieved specific facility standards required by Nash. A Nash Approved Salon status is required for the salons who want to be Nash Approved Internships and/or Training Sites. It is an opportunity for all salons to raise their standard and make a difference in the pet care industry. Take the Nash Challenge and make your salon a safer place for you, your salon team and the pets!
On the Job Training Sites (OJTS)
Nash Approved OJT Sites (NAOJTS)
The On the Job Training Site and the Nash Approved On the Job Training Site are pet grooming salons seeking to hire a bather, groomer and/or stylist. The OJT Salon is not required to go through the Nash Approved Salon process, however it is recommended. It is a pet grooming salon looking for a bather, groomer and/or stylist and is willing to offer on the job training to a student or students, who will have completed the online courses required in the diploma programs for dogs and cats (cats optional). Students will practice what they have learned online and then test out on their practical skills to receive their diploma at a Nash Approved Training Site and return to the OJT Site to work after they test out.
Internship Sites
Nash Approved Internship Sites (NAIS)
Internships sites do not have to be Nash Approved Salons. Internship sites and Nash Approved Internship Sites are pet grooming salons that are willing to train students after they complete their online courses. If a student chooses a salon that is not approved and the salon does not want to be approved, the student can still attend the internship and receive credit. Students who attend the internship sites practice what they have learned online and then test out on their practical skills to receive their diploma at a Nash Approved Training Site.
Nash Approved Training Sites (NATS)
A Nash Approved Training Site is a pet grooming salon that is approved by the Nash Academy to teach the practical skills courses included in the diploma programs for dog and cats. In addition, the site may be approved to teach practical skills courses not included in the diploma programs, such as salon operations, grooming competition training and how to show dogs in the conformation ring.
Nash Approved Pet Care School (NAPCS)
A Nash Approved Pet Care School is a pet grooming salon who has completed all the requirements and is approved as a school to operate in their state and is also approved by Nash Academy to utilize the Nash System of Education. Schools using the Nash System use all the online courses in their curriculum along with all of the tracking systems utilized by Nash Academy. |
