Listed below are the requirements for the Nash Approved Sites in reference to the individual who will oversee the practical skills training. Please review the requirements to better understand the difference between a Professional Stylist and a Certified Nash Academy Practical Skills Instructors.

NAIS
Qualified Professional Stylist Employment
NAIS Salon must employ a qualified professional stylist for the purpose of overseeing the practical skills sessions and can only accept students for the intern sessions that the professional stylist is qualified to oversee.
In the event a NAIS Salon no longer employs a qualified professional stylist, the NAIS Salon must notify the Nash Academy immediately. The student will have the option of transferring to another internship site or deferring his/her internship (up to 30 days) until the NAIS Salon has employed a qualified professional stylist.
Active and Inactive NAIS Salon
A NAIS Salon that has a qualified professional stylist shall be considered “Active” and qualified to oversee students during their internship session. A NAIS Salon that does not have a qualified professional stylist shall be considered “Inactive” and shall not receive students to participate in the internship until NAIS Salon secures employment of a qualified professional stylist.
Qualified Professional Stylist – Student Ratio
The NAIS Salon must provide one (1) Professional Stylist to oversee every six (6) students.
NATS
Certified Instructor Employment
NATS Salon shall employ Certified Nash Academy Practical Skills Instructors for the purpose of teaching the practical skills courses and can only accept students for the courses that the instructor is certified to teach.
In the event that a NATS Salon no longer employs a Certified Nash Academy Practical Skills Instructor, the NATS Salon must notify the Nash Academy immediately. The NATS Salon Student will have the option of transferring to another NATS Salon Location or deferring his/her training (up to 30 days) until the NATS Salon has employed a Certified Nash Academy Practical Skills Instructor.

The NAPC School student will have the option of transferring to another NAPC School location or deferring his/her training (up to 30 days) until the NAPC School has employed a Certified Nash Academy Practical Skills Instructor.
