Nash Approved Pet Care Schools (NAPCS)

Thank you for your inquiry regarding a Nash Approved Pet Care School.

Contents of the Application Package for a Nash Approved Pet Care School
The following information is contained in this application package so that you have all the facts about what it takes to be a Nash Approved Pet Care School:

How to Apply to be a Nash Approved Pet Care School
To make your Nash Approved Salon, OJT SIte, Internship Site or Training Site a prospective Nash Approved Pet Care School, you must complete the additional salon requirements for a Nash Approved Pet Care School and submit your Nash Approved Pet Care School Application and the non-refundable application fee of $100.00. Your application cannot be processed without the following:
  • Nash Approved Pet Care School Application
  • Application Fee
  • Application for Certified Practical Skills Instructor
The following information is featured about your salon/school.

Salon Portfolio
The salon portfolio has been created so schools can add photos of their establishment to promote their overall facilities, equipment, products and tools to encourage prospective students to visit their school and complete their training at their location.

Professional Portfolio
The professional portfolio section allows the school to feature their school team and the instructor team who will oversee the practical skills training courses.

Initial Response from the NAPCS Operations Center
After receipt of your application package and your application fee, the NAPCS Operation Center will review the information on your application and notify you as to any recommendations within 7 days.

Response from a Prospective School Site
You must notify the NAPCS Operations Center as soon as these recommendations are complete or within 90 days from the date of your application that the recommendations/requirements for your salon have been completed. If the NAPCS Operations Center does not receive a response from the prospective Nash Approved PCS within 90 days, the prospective school must submit a new application for the school, pay another application fee, and updated any and all required information required for the school.

Contract Package
After completion of the recommendations, if any, the Operations Center will send you the Contract Package. You must review the contract, and the Nash Confidentiality Agreement at this time. You must sign the contract and have all employees in the salon sign the confidentiality agreement. You Must return the contract with the School Processing Fee of $10,000.

  • Nash Approved Pet Care School Operations Agreement Contract for the prospective school owner to sign.
Processing the School Information
After receipt of the confidentiality agreement and the school operation agreement contract , the prospective school must submit the fees and expenses required for state approval, if applicable. The processing of the required documents cannot begin until payment is submitted for state approval fees and expenses.

  • Courses and programs approval forms.
  • Personnel forms for all employees to complete.
  • School Catalog
  • School Bond (Amount of bond varies from state to state.)
  • Agent Approvals
State Approval
After completion of the necessary forms and all policies and procedures required have been completed, the School Package will be submitted to the state for approval. State approval can take 1 to 6 months depending upon the individual state and how often the board of approval meets.

Creating Manuals and a School Catalog
After completion of the necessary documents to obtain state approval, if applicable, the prospective school must begin completing the necessary forms to create school manuals.

Employee Training
After completion of the necessary information to personalize the school manuals, the employee training process begins. Employee training is typically completed in a 3 month time frame, however, the prospective school can take up to 6 months to receive this training.

Certificate of Completion
After completion of the school training, all participants will receive a certificate of completion.

State Approval (If Applicable)
After receipt of state approval, if applicable, the school will receive also receive the Nash Approved Pet Care School Certificate.

Annual Approval
Schools will be required to submit an annual renewal package with up to date information about your school and complete the salon facility check off list.
