Your salon team completes their Diploma requirements using the Nash System of Pet Care Education. A great incentive program to award employees who strive to be the best in their chosen profession.

 

Scoring System

All students, employees, and competitors are evaluated, scored, and placed using the international scoring system Vivian and John Nash developed and implemented in 1989 for IJA, the International Judges Association for Dog Grooming Competitions.

 

Level 4 - Canine Styling Specialist

Level 3 - Canine Styling Expert

Level 2 - Canine Styling Master

Level 1 - Canine Styling Novice

 

Online Courses

There are nine online courses in the famous Nash diploma program. Your employees receive study material, meet in group discussions, and take the test at the end of the course. Employees can take one or more classes per month to complete the requirements.

 

How to Register Your Salon Team in Online Courses

Salon owners complete the Salon OJT Diploma Program Employee Registration, and Nash will take care of the rest. 

 

How to Submit Onsite Trim Styles

Employees submit their trim style required photos to NASH CENTRAL to evaluate and rank against the international standard. Your employees will know how their skills and knowledge rank with other bathers, groomers, and stylists worldwide!

 

Nash Scoring and Ranking Certification Team

Your evaluator and ranking team consist of the best in the industry with Nash Academy Instructors, IJA Judges with the International Judges Association for Dog Grooming Competitions, and other industry Level 4 Specialists in the course material.

BATHER GROOMER 

Maximum time to complete 120 days (Four Months) 

 

Complete required online classes and trim styles to test out of the Bathing Program.

 

1. Understanding: History of the Canine

2. Salon: Layout, Equipment, Tools, Safety Policies, and Procedures

3. Grooming: Phase 1 Prepping; Phase 2 Bathing; Phase 3 Drying; Phase 4 Brushing; Phase 5 Finishing

 

Complete the required trim styles certification for the Multitude of Coat Types.

 

1. Naturally Trim Styles: Short; Smooth; Medium Smooth; Nordic

2. Long and Flowing Trim Styles - With or Without Part: Drop Coats

3. Silhouette Tidy Trim Styles: Rough Nordic; Rough; 

4. Silhouette Enhancement Trim Styles: Medium Long

 

Your employees will be evaluated, scored, and ranked as Novice, Master, Expert, or Specialist.

GROOMER STYLIST 

Maximum time to complete 120 days (Four Months)

Complete online classes and tests in the Groomer Stylist Program.

 

1. Form and Function: Canine Anatomy and Physiology Certification 

2. Taking Care: Disease and Disorders, Parasites 

3. First Aid and CPR: Dog Certification 

4. First Aid and CPR: Cat Optional

5. First Aid and CPR: Human Optional

 

Complete required trim styles for Sporting, Sporting Saddle, and Wire Coat Types.   

 

Complete the required trim styles certification for the Sporting Coat Types.

Complete the required trim styles certification for the Wire Coat Types.
